It’s June 25, 2019, 6:30 in the morning, day nine in Mobile. I began my morning just as I have every other morning for the past week. I rolled out of bed with tired eyes, but the excitement to see my new sisters at rehearsals overpowered my exhaustion. Before I came to Mobile I had my doubts. What will it be like? Will I have fun? Will I “click” with the other girls? After being in Mobile for nearly a week and a half now, all of these questions have been answered.

What is Mobile like? Well, I can confidently say that Mobile, Alabama is quite an amazing place. Mobile is full of history, hospitality, and many wonderful people who have welcomed me with open arms. Since the moment I arrived, I have been treated with nothing less than respect, love, and kindness.

I can also now confidently answer the question, “Will I have fun?” My time here in Mobile has been somewhat of a marathon, but an extremely fun marathon nonetheless. Despite the fact that I just met everybody in Mobile nine days ago, we have had an absolutely incredible time together.

The most important question that I can now give an answer to, is the question, “Will I ‘click’ with the other girls?” After spending at least 8 hours a day with 50 inspiring young women from across the country, I can assure you that I have “clicked” with each one in a unique way and I couldn’t be more thankful for these connections.

Today as I stood on the stage with all 50 participants rehearsing the finals night ending number I realized something. We all have different stories, we all have different passions, and we all have different goals, but the one thing that we all have in common is the fact that one day we will all change the world in our own unique ways.

It’s hard to put exactly into words what this experience in Mobile has meant to me but the one word that comes to mind is extraordinary. Tomorrow is a new day and another step of the journey. The best is yet to come.
