A security guard at Shauri Yako Primary School in Homa-Bay town constituency was on Tuesday arraigned in court for allegedly abetting a gang in the theft of digital learning gadgets from the school.
The accused, Jared Otieno Wanyumba, was charged with failing to use reasonable cause to prevent a criminal gang from stealing at the institution he was guarding during the night.
He was charged that on the night of August 27 this year, the 30-year-old knowingly allowed the thieves to steal digital learning materials from the school.
Wanyumba who was appearing before Principal Magistrate Ruth Maloba pleaded not guilty.
He was remanded at Homa-Bay G.K Prison after failing to raise a bond of Ksh.50, 000 and one surety of similar amount.
The case will be mentioned on September 16, 2019.
